Optional audience measurement

Measurement is off until you enable it. When enabled, the guide sends only a known chapter name and an event type: a chapter view or a helpfulness vote. The server uses a 90-day window for daily totals and removes older totals on the next service request. These totals count activity, not unique people, and may include repeat visits or automated traffic.

We do not put prompt contents, command edits, draft text, search terms, referrers, full URLs, email addresses, or IP addresses in the measurement database. Network and hosting providers still process requests and may retain their own operational logs. This is not a claim that no network information is processed.

Optional guide accounts

You can use the guide and builders without an account. Sign in with an email code or ChatGPT and explicitly create a guide workspace to save work across devices. We use your site-specific sign-in identity to separate your records. We do not receive your ChatGPT password or conversations. ChatGPT account recovery is handled by ChatGPT. Email sign-in uses Supabase and a code delivered through Resend; access to your email inbox is required.

Your workspace stores an optional display name, preset avatar, preferred learning level, reading settings, theme, saved draft names and text, and creation/update information. Reading preferences are display choices; the profile form does not request medical conditions or health information. Profiles and drafts have no public sharing page. The guide checks record ownership on the server; authorized site operators and hosting providers may have administrative access to stored data. This is not end-to-end encrypted storage.

Opening the guide checks whether you have a workspace and, if so, loads your saved display preferences. Reading and theme changes then sync to your account. Drafts upload only when you choose Save to my workspace or explicitly select browser drafts to import. Imports keep the browser originals. Do not save secrets, personal records, or confidential repository material.

Records stay until you delete individual drafts or your workspace. Use My workspace to export your data or delete your profile, synced settings, and all saved drafts from the active database. Hosting providers may retain operational logs or backups under their retention policies. Deletion does not remove your ChatGPT account, downloaded exports, browser copies, or anonymous aggregate activity. Account records and draft text are never included in optional audience measurement.

Email sign-in and account links

Requesting a code may create a Supabase authentication record before you verify the code. Supabase processes your email address, authentication identity, sessions, and authentication logs. Resend processes the recipient address and sign-in email delivery. This site stores the link between your Supabase identity and your guide workspace, plus server-side session credentials needed to keep you signed in. The browser receives an essential, Secure, HttpOnly session cookie, not those credentials. Guide email sessions last up to 30 days unless revoked sooner. These records are separate from optional audience measurement.

Code requests temporarily store the email address, any workspace-link request, and an attempt count for up to 10 minutes. Hashed email rate-limit keys last up to one hour. Expired challenge, rate-limit, and session records are removed on a subsequent email-authentication request; this cleanup does not erase provider logs or backups.

Linking requires proof of both sign-ins. Open your existing ChatGPT workspace, choose Add email sign-in, and verify the email code. Email addresses alone never merge guide workspaces. When separate saved work already exists, linking is refused.

Deleting a guide workspace removes its email link and active guide email sessions, profile, and drafts. The separate Supabase authentication record remains until the guide operator removes it. To request its removal, use Report an error, choose this Privacy chapter, and state that you want your email authentication record deleted. You may include the sign-in email for this request; do not include codes or passwords. The operator must verify ownership before deleting it. ChatGPT accounts, downloaded files, browser preferences, and provider operational retention are separate.

What stays on your device

Saved drafts are readable by anyone with access to this browser profile. Do not save secrets. They do not sync between devices. Export text for a portable copy; deleting a draft does not delete files you downloaded.

Delete local Claude Code history

This is separate from this website’s saved drafts. In a terminal, claude project purge deletes local Claude Code state for a chosen project, including transcripts and history. Preview the effect first:

claude project purge . --dry-run

Read the preview and keep anything you need before running the command without --dry-run. It does not delete hosted sessions or this guide’s workspace.

Error reports

Sending the report form stores your selected chapter, issue type, message, submission time, and report ID. Reports older than the 180-day window are removed on the next service request. Only the guide owner can view reports. The form does not request a name or email. Keep sensitive information out of the message. If you need a report removed, use the form again and quote its report ID.

External services and owner access

The guide is hosted with ChatGPT Sites. The owner dashboard uses ChatGPT sign-in and checks the owner’s identity on the server. Reader pages do not require sign-in. Typography is loaded from Google Fonts; your browser may contact that service. Links to external documentation have their own privacy practices.

No advertising network or payment embed is active. This resource remains free. Every guide and tool remains free.
